이 글은 한국어교재와 교수자들 간에 논란이 있는 문법용어의 영어 대역어에 대한 학습자의 선호도를 알아본 것이다. 학습자 요구조사 결과, 학습자들은 문법 설명은 반드시 필요하며, 학습효과를 줄 수 있다고 생각한다. 구체적 문법용어의 영어 대역어 선정은 첫째, 일반언어학 용어 중 범언어적으로 많이 사용되는 용어를 선택해야 한다. 다양한 모국어 사용자를 대상으로 한 한국어교육에서 범언어적으로 사용되는 용어는 따로 설명하지 않아도 학습자들이 이해할 수 있을 것이다. 둘째는 한국어에서의 특성을 체계적으로 규명할 수 있는 것이어야 한다. 한국어는 첨가어로서 조사와 어미가 매우 발달되었는데, 다른 언어에는 존재하지 않는 문법 범주에서의 용어를 선정할 때는 한국어의 특성을 잘 살린 용어를 선정해야 한다. 셋째는 학습자의 요구(Leaner's needs)와 부합해야 하는데, 학습자의 선호도 분석 결과 학습자들은 전문용어를 피하고 단순한 용어를 선호하는 것을 알 수 있다.
This paper aims to investigate the perceptions and preferences of Korean Learners about Korean Grammar terms in English through questionnaire in order to establish the Standard Korean Education Grammar for KFL. First a detailed analysis is conducted on Korean Learners' needs for selection of Grammar terms and their English counterparts. They selected the terms related with the part of speech like verb and noun etc, and with the tense including present tense and past tense. Second, according to the result of this questionnaire Korean Learners regard using Grammar terms as positive and effective Korean learning method. Korean leaners have the tendency for benefit using Korean Grammar terms in classroom. Third, Korean Language teachers tend to have the opinion that Korean Language Education Grammar is different from the School Grammar.
