Commitment is an important multifaceted construct but also one that is hard to define. In line with this, previous research has suggested various conceptualizations for commitment scale. Among those, this study examines the applicability of Allen and Meyer's (1990) original three-component model since the applicability has been debatable depending on the context and examined the revised version to apply to South Korean context. The validity testing of the scale in a South Korean context suggests the researchers' care should be taken to use normative and continuance commitment scale and advises a three-factor model of TCM rather than a four-factor model in a South Korean context.
