Japanese Language Education in the 21st Century: Its Direction and Potentials

Globalization has been giving great impacts on our society and changing our life in many respects. In this movement fueled by the rapid development of technology, the aspects of our language has also been transforming and, accordingly, the significance of language learning has been shifting. This paper will explore the goal of language learning in this new changing world. Globalization has been changing the Japanese society, which impacts, to a great extent, Japanese language education as a foreign language. This paper will also consider the significance of learning the Japanese language abroad in the 21st century.
