화법교육의 지식 범주화 시론(試論)

An Introductory Study on Knowledge Categorization in Speech Education

이 연구는 화법교육에서 교육 내용 요소 가운데 하나인 지식(knowledge)을 범주화하는 것이 목적이다. 이는 화법교육에서 기능(skill)에 비해 상대적으로 그 중요성이 간과되고 있는 지식에 대한 위상을 공고히 하고, 학습자가 보다 체계적으로 화법 지식을 이해하도록 유도한다는 데에 의의가 있다. 이 연구에서는 화법교육 내용으로서의 지식을 지식 중심 국어교육 관점을 바탕으로 재개념화하였다. 화법 지식의 상위 범주는 화법의 소통요소를 고려하여 '담화적 지식, 언어적 지식, 심리적 지식, 맥락적 지식'으로 설정하였다. 그리고 화법의 소통 과정이 작동하는 양상을 바탕으로 화법 지식 범주의 논거를 확충하고 교육 내용 마련을 위한 접점을 모색하였다. 이를 통해 화법 지식의 네 범주에 대해 다시 각각의 하위 범주를 설정하여, 교육과정 내용 요소의 예를 제시해 보았다. 구체적으로 담화적 지식은 화법의 유형, 언어적 지식은 담화의 구조, 심리적 지식은 화법의 소통, 맥락적 지식은 화법의 장면과 관련지었다. 그리고 화법의 유형에서는 '소통 목적과 담화 종류'를, 담화의 구조에서는 '발화, 문법, 매체'를, 화법의 소통에서는 '수용과 생산'을, 화법의 장면에서는 '상황, 사회ㆍ문화'를 실질적인 교육 요소 제시를 위한 하위 범주로 설정하였다.

This study aims at categorizing knowledge as educational contents in speech education. It has a meaning that it makes emphasize on the knowledge because speech education relatively ignore the "knowledge" than "skill", so it leads learners to understand the speech knowledge systematically. After founding knowledge based perspectives of Korean Language Education, this study re-conceptualize upper categories of knowledge in speech education. The categories of knowledge are "Textual knowledge, Linguistic knowledge, Psychological knowledge, Contextual knowledge" from getting concepts of speech components. The contents of knowledge based speech education are made by reviewing educational contents of Korean language education curriculum. Textual knowledge connected to the types of convertsation, it has a subordinate category, "communicational purpose and discourse type". Linguistic knowledge connected to the structures of speech, "speech, grammar, media". Psychological knowledge connected to the communication of conversation, "consuming and producing". Contextual knowledge connected to the scene of speech, "situation, socio-cultural scene".
