남자 메이크업아티스트의 경험에 대한 내러티브 연구

A Study of Narratives regarding Male Makeup Artists' Experience

This study aims to provide basic data that are useful for men becoming makeup artists and to provide understanding of their lives after qualitative analysis of narratives concerning their job. For this, in-depth interviews and e-mail and phone interviews were conducted with a total of six male makeup artists from October 2, 2013 to January 5, 2014 (14 weeks), and related journals were reviewed. Then, data were collected and analyzed. The study results revealed that when asked about difficulties as a male makeup artist, 'peer relationships,' 'relationship with customers,' 'lack of expertise,' 'lack of experience,' 'fierce competition' and 'unreasonable demands' were the responses. In terms of the joys and pleasures gained as a male makeup artist, they answered 'intimate coworkers,' 'compliments from customers,' 'happiness and satisfaction as a makeup artist' and 'pride as a male makeup artist.'
