이 연구는 동해연안의 환경문제를 살펴보고 이지역의 지속적인 발전을 위한 정책방향에 대해 논의한다. 먼저 동해연안 환경상태의 최근변화를 분석하고, 이 지역에 영향을 미친 요인을 밝혀낸다. 다음으로 이 지역의 경제적 경쟁력과 환경보전의 탐색을 위한 정책방향과 기준을 제시한다. 특히 이 연구는 환경규제를 환경산업의 발전과 조화시키기 위해 통합적인 환경과 경제정책의 중요성에 관해 논의한다.
This study reviews the environmental issues of the coastal area in East and discusses policy directions for sustainable development of the area. It first analyzes recent changes in the environment state of the costal area of East and identifies the pollution factors that have been affecting the area. It then suggests policy direction and the measures for the quest of economic competitiveness and environmental preservation of the area. Specifically, this study stresses the necessity of nourishing environmental industry and discuss the importance of merging environmental and economic polices in order to harmonize environmental regulation with the development of the environmental industry.
