Secure Attachment and Sensitive Caregiving

Many researches reported that sensitive caregiving contribute to the secure attachment and children given sensitive caregiving showed better cognitive ability higher self-esteem and socially skilled behavior. At this point, this paper has the purpose that looks into factors to affect the secure attachment and suggests assistances to become sensitive caregiver. Each factor that influences the development of attachment includes infant and parent characteristics, the parents relationship with each other, outside-the family stressors. the availability of social supports, parents views of their attachment history, and child-care arrangement. Having the opportunity to form a warm bond with a stable professional caregiver can be helpful to infants. The infants whose Mothers with high career commitment and high levels of social support may have secure attachment. This paper suggests that parents, sub-caregivers, caregivers of child care, all must become the professional careginer for sensitive care. In other to that, government has to establish the policy of supports and educations for sensitive caregiving.
