Historiography of Korean war(1950-1953) in Russia

This paper deals with th historiography of Korean war, which was occurred from 1950 to 1953, in modern Russia. Both academical books and general stories, which have been written after 1950 to present, were surveyed in this paper. In Russian books, the viewpoints on Korean war are very various different. They are sharply divided into two groups. One is blue, the other is red. The red stresses the responsibility of United States of America and Korea, but the blue says that of Russia. These two opinions were influenced by political propaganda which was based on false evidence. All historical books on Korean war that were published in recent times, were not written by academical specialists on Korea. Korean war has some position in Russian historical studies. And the problems of Korean are political themes in some sece by the group of scholars who are interested with the Russian history of USSR period. In these studies, therefore, the political character is bigger than the historical objectivity. And ow the consensus of Russian scholars on Korean studies is building. These studies consider the Korean war as a civil war which was begun by Koreans and deepened by foreign engagement.
