A Study about Humanistic Creativity

The purpose of this study is to define humanistic creativity. There have been discussions for a long time as to whether creativity is domain general or domain specific. Recent research in cognitive psychology seems to favor domain specific. Humanistic creativity is the ability to work during the processes and productions of creativity in Liberal Art such as language, literature, philosophy, history, religion, folklore and aesthetics. It is also the thinking and problem solving ability in emotions, morals, and ethics. Emotional and moral creativities help one find oneself, accept oneself, love oneself, and be satisfied with oneself. They help one pursue social virtues and endeavors, as their personal vision to do good for others. Thus humanistic creativity could be defined as human creativity which makes one become what a person should be, and do what one should do for one's personal satisfaction and positive service to other people. This humanistic creativity is an essential element for future leaders, since it may give one personal satisfaction with one's life and be a positive ability to pursue social good. Further research is needed as to how to enhance this humanistic creativity.
