In order to picture the concept of the intellectual within the humanities, my study will deal with Friedrich Nietzsche. It is certain that the circumstances in which Nietzsche had lived is very different from today. Nevertheless the problem with what Nietzsche desperately tried to solve, is so modern that we can refer to it nowadays. By the way we concentrate on the critique of culture in Nietzsche's philosophy. Nietzsche criticizes the whole German culture in the 19th century. To sum up, according to Nietzsche, the German culture has fallen in to decadence and has become the retired quality of life. And in the same context he criticizes education. According to Nietzsche the problem of culture can't be separate from the problem of education. Because, if roughly saying the culture is the process that makes the human being, then education plays a decisive role in that process. Nietzsche's critique of culture and education in general appears early, and by means of them does he later endeavor to suggest new types of the human beings. First of all, it is the genius as the creative individual and second the free spirit and finally the Übermensch. Of course the essential concept is the Übermensch, which my study will evaluate the respective concepts concerning it.
