In history, China has been a special place for the Korean literators to create and get inspiration. In modern and contemporary Chinese history, China had been the unique place where Korean people could escape from Japanese oppression, and where they continued to fight against the Japanese invader for gainning freedom. According to the statistics of Professor Quanzhe of Yanbian University, there were about 137 Korean literators who had come to or had lived in or had moved within Manchuria, China. The statistics could be increased if the poets were included who ran for their lives in other places of China. Most of them had come and even lived for several years to produce their works in China. The Korean literators who had immigrated to China were not only influenced by Korean traditional culture, but were also deeply affected by the Chinese culture. Therefore their works had the glamor both of their own culture and foreign culture. This paper is focused on the image of the "North" in Korean poetry in China. The author tries to find the reason why this image has appeared again and again in their works by analyzing the relationship of huge immigration and the political and cultural space in China.
