국내 대학의 인문예술 융합교육 실태연구

A Study on the Present State of Humanities and Arts Convergence Education in Korean Universities

본 연구의 목적은 한국대학 내에서 시행되고 있는 인문융합교육의 현황과 실태를 파악하는 것이다. 우선 인문예술 융합교육과 관련된 기존의 선행 연구들을 검토하여 인문예술 융합교육의 현황과 실태에 대한 전반적인 논의가 아직은 체계적으로 다루어지고 있지 않은 점을 확인하였다. 이런 확인과 함께 본 연구에서는 국내대학에서 시행되고 있는 인문예술융합교육의 현황과 실태를 전반적으로 파악하기 위해 홈페이지 등을 통해 공시된 자료를 전체 대학을 대상으로 수집하였을 뿐만 아니라, 인문학 및 예술 분야 융합교육의 전문가를 대상으로 하는 그룹심층인터뷰 조사를 선행적으로 실시하였다. 이를 통해 문헌연구를 통해 접근할 수 없었던 융합교육의 현장에 대한 다양한 차원의 실제적인 지식과 정보를 얻을 수 있었고, 다른 하나는, 그 결과를 기반으로 설문조사를 작성하여 국내 대학에서 실행되고 있는 인문예술 융합교육의 교육여건과 교육환경의 세부실태를 파악할 수 있었다. 그것으로부터 본 연구는 국내 대학에서의 인문예술 분야에서의 융합교육은 많은 우려와 반대에도 불구하고 비교적 다양한 형태로 시행되고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러나 대학 내에서 인문예술 융합교육의 적절한 자리매김과 활성화 방안을 위한 지속적인 논의들이 이루어져야 한다는 점을 확인하였다.

The purpose of this research was to examine and to investigate the current situation and present state of humanities and arts convergence education in Korean universities. Different from previous research that only dealt with narrow topics, theoretical reviews, presentation of models, or curriculum designs, this research widely scrutinizes overall educational practices in Korean universities. At the outset previous research related to humanities and arts convergent education and forward education of creative thinking is reviewed. It is confirmed that theoretically refined outcomes of the meaning and need of convergent education in the fields of humanities and arts are still insufficient, and that existing empirical research is limited to the mere introduction of institutional and curricula models of convergent education. Therefore this research began with a focus group interview (FGI) with specialists in interdisciplinary and convergent education in the humanities and arts, and applied its results to the consultation of the survey on the views of the teachers and students who have experienced the convergent education program in the university. The results of the survey indicate that humanities and arts convergent education has been practiced in various types and curriculums. However, they also indicate that there are several things that should be improved upon for the educational quality in this area, including teachers' professionalism, content development, and the educational environment for teachers and students engaged in convergent education. This research has been designed to provide reliable information on the current situation of convergent education, and to establish a foundation for further discussion about its direction and future policies.
