In this paper we examine some differences between temporal preposition and nontemporal preposition with respect to clausal gerund. Following Dubinsky & Williams(1995), we claim that the temporal preposition differs from the nontemporal preposition in that only the former occupies a C° position. Furthermore, we suggest that when nontemporal preposition occurs before a clausal gerund, it selects a bare IP complement whether the embedded subject is overt or not. To support this argument, this paper extends the Null Case assignment to PRO in infinitives to the case of clausal gerund. (Korea University)
