이 논문은 고려인 한진이 한국전쟁을 소재로 모국어로서 창작한 <나무를 흔들지 마라>를 통하여 민족 정체성을 어떻게 무대화하는지를 고찰하는데 목적을 두었다. 망명객이자 변경의 지식인인 한진은 자기가 소속된 사회에서 적응하려는 노력과 동시에 모국어로 작품활동을 하였다. 그가 무대 위에서 모국어를 사용하는 행위는 민족 정체성을 회복하려는 시도이다. 이 희곡의 무대인 '큰 나무 한 그루'는 공동운명체인 한반도와 한민족의 화합을 상징하는 공간이다. 이 희곡에서 '나무'를 흔드는 '외세'에 대한 비판을 발견하게 된다. 작가는 남한이 미국을 보호자로 여겨 그와 의존관계를 맺어 피식민화되는 것을 비판하고 있다. 이 희곡에 등장하는 지구의와 고려자기는 조선이 하나의 땅이라는 것을 인식시키고, 민족의 혼이 담긴 유물이라는 점을 환기시켜 공동체의식을 갖도록 한다. 한진은 <나무를 흔들지 마라>에서 한국어와 한국의 역사를 통해 자신의 정체성을 드러내고 있다. 이 희곡을 통해 형성되는 민족 정체성은 민족이 분단되기 이전에 가지고 있던 남북한은 '형제'이며 '하나의 민족'이라는 의식이다. 이러한 그의 노력은 근원 상실과 잃어버린 뿌리를 찾는 것으로 한진이 한반도 출신의 망명 작가로서 자신의 정체성을 추적하는 작업이라 할 수 있다.
The aim of this thesis is to examine the properties of national identity in the play <Don't shake the tree> which by the Korean Han Jin in the Soviet Central Asia. The background of this play is the Korea War. He expressed about national identity in mother tongue. The thesis can be summarized as follows. First, Han Jin tried to adapt to his society. At the same time, He wrote the literature by means of mother tongue. He also sought to restore cultural identity. Second, The 'tree' is a symbol of Korea and the unity of Korean people. Third, In this play, he resist the foreign power that shake the 'tree.' .He criticize that South Korea thinks of the United States as a guardian and American colonization. Fourth, In this play, the globe is the medium that understand 'Korea is the land of one'. Korea celadon filled with nation soul. He had the sense of community through this. In the <Don't shake the tree>, Han Jin appears to his identity by the Korean language and Korea history. The identity of the nation formed in consciousness that the 'brothers' and 'one nation' before Korea had divided South and North Korea. In addition, the traditional culture shows that unified Korean can be reconfigured. He find the lost source and roots by means of his work. As a exile writer, his writing is tracking his own identity.
