해외입양인 친생부모의 생애사 연구

A Life History of Overseas Adoptee-Birth Parents -Focused on the Experience to Search Children-

이 연구의 목적은 해외입양인 친생부모의 자녀찾기를 중심으로 한 생애경험을 이해하는데 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해, 이 연구에서 자녀찾기를 경험한 두 명의 해외입양인 친생부모들을 대상으로 한 심층면접, 관찰, 기록물 등의 방법을 활용하여 자료를 수집하였으며, 생애사 접근을 통해 분석하였다. 분석결과는 참여자의 생애과정요약 및 생애이야기 서술, 주제 분석, 개입이슈 등으로 제시하였다. 분석결과 해외입양인 친생부모들의 생애경험에 나타난 주제는 ①"자녀상실: 부모 '얼굴'을 잃어버리고 이중 가면 쓰고 살아가기", ②"자녀 찾기: 부모의 잃어버린 '얼굴'찾기", ③"찾은 아빠(부모): '생부모'와 '친부모' 역할 사이에서 경계인으로 살아가기", ④"못 찾은 엄마(부모): 계속되는 후회와 기다림으로 살아가기" 등으로 나타났다. 이에 해외입양인 친생부모들의 자녀상실과 자녀재회과정에서 경험한 내용을 중심으로 입양절차, 아동유기, 사전ㆍ사후관리, 자녀찾기 등의 입양관련 개입이슈들을 검토하고 논의하였다. 논의결과를 바탕으로 해외입양인 친생부모들에 대한 사회적 개입과 지원에 필요한 정책적 제언과 실천적 개입방안을 제시하였다.

This study's purpose is to understand the life experience of overseas adoptee-birth parents. For this purpose, the data were collected through in-depth interviews with two adoptee-birth parents who have the experience to search children and their documents and analyzed using life history approach. Results of analysis were composed of summarized life history, thick description of life history, theme analysis, and issues for intervention. The themes generated from analysis are ① 'losing children : living as parents without face and with wearing double mask of a sinner and a victim', ②'searching children: recovering a lost face of parents', ③ 'parents who met children: living as boundary people between role of real parents and birth parenting', ④ 'parents who did not meet children: living with lasting regret and waiting for children.' Researcher, also, examined intervention issues of adoption, adoption process, abandoning the children, pre-post adoption service, searching children. Based on the results of this study, the policies and practical guidelines for overseas adoptee-birth parents were suggested.
