동물설화와 인간 주체화의 과정

Animal Tales and Subjectivization

이 글은 동물설화의 전체적인 지형을 파악할 수 있는 새로운 잣대를 어떻게 마련할 것인가에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 동물이라는 타자 속에 덧씌워진 인간의 형상을 찾아보고 이를 통해서 인간 주체화의 과정을 가늠해 보려 하였다. 이를 위해 동물설화 중 가장 문제적인 작품인 <까치의 보은> 설화를 주된 분석 대상으로 삼았다. 논의 결과, 동물설화는 일반적으로 인간 주체화의 과정을 반영하고 있다는 잠정 결론에 도달할 수 있었다. 따라서 동물설화의 존재 양상은 작품에서 형상화된 의인화된 동물이 주체화 과정의 어느 국면을 반영하고 있는가를 따져보는 방식으로 살필 수 있었다. 이에 '동일시되는 동물', '말하는 동물', '죽어가는 동물'이라는 술어를 제시하고 그 구체적인 양상을 살폈다. 다양한 동물설화를 통해 인간은 라캉이 말하는 이른바 상상계와 상징계와 실재계를 끊임없이 드나든다. 인간은 이러한 동물이라는 반사적 표면을 통해서, 동물 이야기 안에서, 동물 이야기를 통해서 주체로 구성된다고 보았다. 동물설화의 다양한 양상들은 이러한 인간 주체화의 과정을 잘 보여준다. 이것이 동물설화가 갖는 핵심적인 의의라 생각한다.

This study pursuit topology of animal tales. As a result, we could concept that topology of animal tales have a relation to the process of human subjectivization and use terminologies, for example 'equatable animal', 'verbal animal' and 'dying animal'. Through various animal tales, human have passed the three courses, what is called 'the imaginary', 'the symbolic' and 'the real'.(Jacques Lacan) Human can construct a subject through animal, in animal tales, and through animal tales, because animal is eternal mirror of human.
