The aim of this study is to introduce Canadian Literature and Tourism, and to review Canadian literature impact on Canadian Tourism focusing on the economic impact of Anne of Green Gables for PEI. According to Survival by Margaret Atwood, a thematic guide to Canadian literature, Canadian literature has a number of key patterns such as survival, nature the monster, animal victims, early people, ancestral totems, family portrait, failed sacrifices and the casual incident of death. These key patterns constitute the shape of Canadian literature. The Exit Survey data of the Anne Tourism Market shows 25 % of travellers visited Anne of Green Gables attractions during the 2007 tourism season from June 27 to September 30. It indicates Anne of Green Gables is very much an integral part of the Prince Edward Island tourism product. Visitors to Anne attractions tended to participate in a wider variety of travel activities and at higher rates than non-visitors to Anne attractions. So we have to let Canadian literature impact on Canadian Tourism be good lesson.
