This paper analyzes the relationship between emotional intelligence and organizational citizenship behavior, and explores how individuals' position in social networks mediates the relationship. Through a survey study with 63 MBA and graduate students, we found that emotionally intelligent individuals were more active in social networks and received more assistance from various groups in the helping network. Also, emotionally intelligent individuals, through their active social relationships, engaged in organizational citizenship behavior. Our study sheds light on the critical role that emotional intelligence plays in building and maintaining relationships.
