김수영의 전기시에 드러난 ‘자유’의 지향과 그 한계

A Study on ‘the limit of freedom’ exposed in the Kim Soo-Young's former part poetry

Kim Soo-Young wanted to establish a subject; Being-in-world given now-here, to overcome period of historical sudden change. The earlier studies about ‘freedom’ of Kim Soo-Young’s literature were mainly based on the prose that the poet mentioned “freedom”. This paper was reconstructed ‘the limit of freedom’ in Kim Soo-Young's the former part poetry, on the relevance Between the inherent logic in the text and his real life. As he was overpowered with the other of western modern culture, the poet got a sense of inferiority and had been hostile to the own existing culture. Such features were revealed by the poet's attitude to treat ‘Father’ symbolizing the older generation. And he had a chance to feel keenly falsity of ideology in the Korean War. Serching the thematic leap between the poem 「Confucius’s trouble of life」 (1945) and 「song in the temple」(1945), the poet was arrested in the feudal world, and drenched in existing culture. the poet wanted to be away from it around himself, and to recognize new and future active lives who were enjoying the freedom to choose. The poet likened ‘freedom’ to flowers blooming of gladiolus on “death on death on death again and” (「gladiolus」(1954)), and to the mightily soaring of the helicopter on the dark earth(「Helicopter」(1955)). But, Kim Soo-Young who wish to pursue this poetic ‘freedom’ had to be ‘life’ responsible for the livelihood of the family. and He went to be arrested by the idea that was formed by the ‘printing’ of book. He intended to be harmony between the poetic pursuit(muse) and real-life in the poem 「Horizon changed」(1956). The poet had realized not to get the the truth by the will of thinking subject in the poem 「book」(1955). Therefore, The poet gave up the world of idea in the his former part poetry, and Went to poetic pursuit based on the world of life in the his latter part poetry. (Pusan National University)
