The aim of this study was to develop a tea culture therapy program to enhance the quality of life of female marriage immigrant’ families and multicultural families. Female marriage immigrants have problems with life and family adaption in Korea, which is an issue for not only for them, but also their families and Korean society. Because the population of multicultural families in Korea is increasing each year, life adaption of female marriage immigrants in Korea should not be treated as an individual or family problem; it should be considered as a social problem. The increase in the number of multicultural families is an important issue of contemporary Korean society. The national policies in helping the family and social life adaption of female marriage immigrants have some limitations. Providing social work practice for female marriage immigrants and multicultural families is important. In particular, female marriage immigrants’ psychological well-being and family sense of coherence and adaption are priorities for their successful cultural adaption in Korea. What is the code to represent Korean culture? This study applied tea culture therapy to these adaption problems because tea culture is an important code for understanding Korean culture. A tea culture therapy program was specifically formulated in two-group programs for female marriage immigrants and their families including couples and children. The variables influencing the level of adjustment are the psychological well-being and family sense of coherence and adaption. The tea culture therapy program can be applied to other families, such as job loss, abuses, the disabled, and broken families.
