The war between two clans, Heike and Genji, took a central place in 『Heikemonogatari』. The Heike was beaten by the Genji in Genpeigatsen and it was finally destroyed. In this process, victory or defeat of fight, or the cause of the fall of the Heike was attributable to betrayal. First, when it comes to the betrayal when Kiyomori was alive, there are two kinds by Narichika of the Sisinotani case and Yorimasa, the leader of the Mochihito-O's rebellion case. Second, the covered betrayal of Gosirakawa-ing after Kiyomori died is explained that after the Heike clan took refuge to Kyushu, their power for the base of support betrayed the Heike. This betrayal was for their safety not for loyalty of Gosirakawa-ing. Third, the betrayer inside the Heike was Yorimori. He betrayed his whole clan as a warrior but it is rationalized as the betrayal for his security. The betrayal to the Heike in 『Heikemonogatari』 ended in failure while Kiyomori lived, because the Heike clan enjoyed the splender and honor during that time.
