The present study empirically investigated the effect of CEOs’ ethical leadership that was suggested to moderate the relations between Korean leadership styles and organizational performance. One hundred and thirty six samples from various industries with diverse hierarchical ranks were asked in a survey to respond to the questionnaire distributed to them in person. The results of hierarchical regressions showed that there is no moderating effect of ethics on Korean leadership and performance, but that a significant direct effect of Korean leadership on performance was found. Various research subjects that need further consideration in the future were discussed relative to the establishment of discriminant validity in comparison to charisma, empowerment, self-leadership, shared leadership, team leadership, the Chinese leadership, as well as investigation of negative sides of benevolent factors out of the Korean leadership.
