The purpose of this paper is to explore some achievements and tasks in the field of philosophy of education through analyzing articles in two Korea philosophy of education journals, i.e., 'The Korean Journal of Philosophy of Education' and 'Philosophy of Education'. Before doing this, I looked at the trends of philosophy of education in Korea, in terms of philosophical circles, approaches, main educational thinkers, and leading Korean philosophers of education. Philosophy of education in Korea has rapidly grown, especially since 1990s in terms of numbers of papers. Although articles on educational thoughts are still dominant, some remarkable achievements has appeared such as variety of research subjects, concern for forgetting dimensions, communication of foreign philosophers of educations, and so on. Philosophy of education in Korea has steadily elaborated from the perspective of methods of philosophy of education. In conclusion, Korean philosophers of education should bear in mind the tasks for contributing the study of education through meeting the demands of both keeping the philosophical identity and extending the field of philosophy of education.
