Okrumong(玉樓夢) is a novel that had been widely-read in the nineteenth century. A dimension of novel-history, not only this work had ready a refined form, but also the substance brought up manyvariety problems of the age. This study argues about an appearance and activity of woman characters in priority. Okrumong(玉樓夢) is placed on a connection-line of friendship-discussion in the late period of Chosun-Dinasty. For exclusive possession of power and severance of mutual understanding between different dimensions, after seventeenth century enumerous intellects were alienated, they asserted restoration of friendship in variety ways. The will forward general social reform was connoted in friendship-discussion presented in the late period of Chosun-Dinasty. The problem of friendship is appeared essentially throughout Okrumong(玉樓夢), it had the same track with course of general history. The realationships between man and woman lead the current of narration, it is a very interest element in the dimension of novel-aesthetics. That element composed the surface of narration, it is seems co have appealed to intellects alienated from power system and to women which they were the other of men. However, in the inside of naration man-central ideology and moral control mightily nararion. The female characters Okrumong(玉樓夢) are heroines that solve many provelems of home and nation. This heroic personality of the female characters is historical streotype that it is discovered from several in the same period. It was character type that alienated intellects have identified oneself with women and detected in the imaginary. But because this detection just had be realized in the imaginary, it may be pointed that the delicate anatomy about reality and the future prospect were deficent.
