편견의 충돌과 대화 형식의 글쓰기

The Conflict of Doxa and the Writing Dialogue Form - With an interpretation of Ae-Oh Jahm(愛惡箴)

본고는 ‘편견’이라는 창을 통해 새로운 문학적 해석의 틀을 제시하고자 하였다. ‘편견’이란 인간의 제한된 인식 능력과 시공간적 제약을 감안한다면 매우 당연한 것이다. 문제는 이로 인해 외부 세계를 과거로부터 학습되어 온 어떤 담론이나 다수의 의견만으로 평가하고 받아들이는 데 있다. 이는 단순히 인간의 일상적 행위뿐 아니라 문학과 예술 장르 혹은 형식상의 고착화로도 이어진다. 그런데 ‘대화 형식’의 글쓰기는 일종의 편견이라고 할 수 있는 기존의 문학적 관습과 장르적 규약을 대화라는 원리를 통해 뛰어 넘는다. 더욱이 그 주제 역시 대다수의 오랜 편견이 반영된 전통적 담론일 경우가 많다. 특히 본고에서 주목하고 있는 이달충의 <愛惡箴>은 ‘箴’이라는 문체가 지니고 있는 내적 독백의 형식을 담론간의 경합 즉 대화라는 새로운 형식으로 탈바꿈 시키고, 대립되는 두 담론을 그 안에 적극적으로 끌어들인다. 이 때 대화 형식의 원리는 대화가 이루어지는 허구적인 시공간의 제시, 특정 담론을 지시하는 지표 기호로서의 허구적 인물 설정, 특정 층위에서의 세계의 분절 등으로 설명된다. 이런 원리는 모두 현실적 권력과 이익이 배제된, 순전히 논리적 경합을 위해 새롭게 설정된 것이다. 또한 담론 경합의 열린 결말은 그 자체로 인식의 다원성을 노출시킨다. 더 나아가 <愛惡箴>은 과거의 전통적 텍스트들도 상호텍스트적으로 불러들여 그 타당성을 검토한다. 이런 점에서 <愛惡箴>은 내적 독백이 주가 되는 개인적 글쓰기에서도 항상 비판적인 대화가 전제되어 있음을 보여준다. 그리하여 본고는 <愛惡箴>과 같은 텍스트에 대한 개별 분석이 축적되면, ‘대화 형식의 글쓰기’가 철학적 의미의 편견뿐 아니라, 문학 형식과 장르 일반에 대한 새로운 논의로 진전될 수 있으리라는 조심스러운 전망을 제시하고자 했다.

This essay aims to suggest an idea of a new literary interpretation through the concept 'discursive bias(doxa)'. The writing of dialogue form works in this concept of the study. On analysing the text Ae-Oh Jahm - which means 'the aphorism about a criterion of estimation' -, I pointed out some structural principles of this writing form: framing a spatial and temporal ground that is fictionally constructed; characterizing two fictional discursive participants who are designated for conflicting discourses itself; and articulating the world in terms of a particular point of view. And the open consequence guarantees the dialogue pluralism of understanding. Moreover, in this text Ae-Oh Jahm some traditional intertexts are examined to verify the validity of its discourse. This would be the strong evidence that there exists the process of the critical reflection and dynamic interaction even in the monologic writing. In conclusion, I attempted to provide a new concept and a tool for interpretation which would cover the theory of literary form and artistic genres.
