Study on Factors Influencing Tourists with Disabilities' Travel Career

Tourism is known for a social force leading to individual's changes. As such it should be encouraged for people to accumulate travel career. This study aimed to identify factors influencing disabled tourists' travel career. A self-administered questionnaire was distributed to and collected from a sample of the disabled who were approached conveniently at several places in Busan Metropolitan City from March 23, 2013 to April 20, 2013. SPSS 21.0 was used to analyze data. Major results were: first, the respondents' level of travel career was not high; second, income level and severity of disability had statistically significant influences on the disabled's travel career, but age and time of being disabled had not. Implications of the results and future research directions were discussed.
