『天主實義』 註釋目錄本의 中國에서의 出版과 朝鮮에서의 諺解筆寫本의 流行

『천주실의(天主實義)』의 여러 판본(版本) 가운데 '주석목록본(註釋目錄本)'이라고 하는 것은, 본문 중에 주석(註釋)이 일부 달려있으면서 그것을 모아 정리한 목록(目錄)이 설정되어 있는 판본을 지칭하는 것이다. 그리고 이는 1868년 중국 상해에서 출판되었으며 또한 1923년의 제4판이 현재 전해진다. 이 『천주실의』 주석목록본은, 한국교회사연구소 영인 자료인 언해필사본(諺解筆寫本) 『텬쥬실의』의 구성과 얼핏 견주어 보면 매우 흡사한 점들을 쉬이 알아차릴 수 있다. 특히 목록에 있어서 그러함을 볼 수 있다. 따라서 주석목록본의 「목록」과 언문필사본의 「목록」이 이같이 차이가 나는 게 있음에도 대부분이 동일하므로, 주석목록본의 내용을 언문으로 번역한 게 언문필사본일 것 같다는 생각을 선뜻 가지기 십상이다. 그러나 더욱 꼼꼼하게 분석해보면, 주석목록본의 「목록」과 언문필사본의 그것이 거의가 동일하지만 일부 차이가 나는 점도 있음을 발견하게 된다. 결국 언문필사본 『텬쥬실의』는 주석목록본의 그것에다가 독자들을 위해 상세한 주석을 붙이고 있음이 드러난다. 그러므로 언해필사본 『텬쥬실의』가 주석목록본을 언문으로 번역하는 데에 그친 게 아니라 이를 읽는 독자들에게 편의를 제공하기 위해 상세한 주석을 덧붙이고 있음을 알겠다. 이 점이 바로 언해필사본 『텬쥬실의』의 특징이라고 하겠다.

Of many woodblock versions of "Tianzhu Shiyi(『天主實義』, Cheonju-Silui, True Meaning of the Lord of Heaven)", 'Annotated Catalog Version(註釋目錄本)' refers to the version in which annotations were partly attached to the main text along with the catalog summarizing them. And this one was published in Shanghai, China in 1868 and its fourth edition in 1923 is currently handed down. People may find easily at a glance the similarity of this Annotated Catalog Version of "Tianzhu Shiyi" to the composition of Korean Manuscript(諺解筆寫本) "Cheonju-Silui" photo-printed material(影印本) by Research Foundation for Korean Church History. It is particularly so in the "Catalog". Therefore, since Catalogs in Annotated Catalog Version and Korean Manuscript are mostly identical despite some differences, people are likely to think Korean Manuscript might be just what translated content of Annotated Catalog Version. But a close analysis of it tells us that there are some differences between "Catalog" of Annotated Catalog Version and that of Korean Manuscript, though they are almost identical. Eventually, it is revealed that Korean Manuscript "Cheonju-Silui" added detailed annotations to the Annotated Catalog Version for readers. As such, this study found Korean Manuscript "Cheonju-Silui" did so to offer convenience to its readers, beyond translation of Annotated Catalog Version into Korean. This point may be characteristic of Korean Manuscript "Cheonju-Silui".
