This paper will primarily focus on exploring English teaching with movies by investigating neoliberal commercialism, hidden curriculum, industrialization of the mind and critical literacy education. In particular, teaching English with Movie The Matrix: Revolution will open up the possibility of hope introducing new educational theories and practices as well as social and critical theories. The goal of this paper is to propose alternative pedagogies, curricula and even social transformation in order to realize equality and social justice. English learning and teaching with movie clips is to help students understand unequal social relationships and social injustice. Introducing to explanation of movie plots with a critical social theory both students and teachers will acknowledge that movie itself shape their ideologies and identities.
