Oriental medicine was established on the basis of a unique philosophical foundation, on which it firmly stands until now. However, since the western medical methods are well known, the theory of the Oriental medicine is frequently disregarded. Although for Oriental medicine, it will be harder to attract people and it is shown to be a less developed technique, the study and the education, which is based strongly on the philosophy of Oriental medicine, are necessary. In order to accomplish this, at first, the education of chinese texts and Oriental medicine classics should be emphasized. Secondly, the basic medicine education should be performed according to Yin-Yang and Five Phases theory. Thirdly, the clinical medicine education should focus on the Oriental medicine principles of Ordering of Patterns and Deciding Treatments rather than introducing western technical terms and diagnostic methods.
