The Study on the Jangbu-sangtong

Jangbu-sangtong-koange(臟腑相通關係) can be studied how it is applied in the clinics through the understanding of the characters of Kehabchu(開闔樞) in the aspect of Meridian Samum-samyang(三陰三陽) and the understanding of the characters of Oheng(五行) in the organs themselves in view of Jangsanghak(臟象學). Heart belongs to Su-soum(手少陰). It governs Sinmyoung(神明). Gallbladder belongs to Jok-soyang(足少陽). It governs the Kyouldan(決斷). Soum(少陰) functions as a Chu(樞) in Um(陰) to communicate with Soyang(少陽) which is a Chu(樞) in Yang(陽). Heart is Wha(火) and gallbladder is Mok(木), therefore they communicate each other. Ondamtang(溫膽湯) can be used by the theory of Sangtong(相通) that when there is Simbyoung-jongchung(心病怔忡), it can be cured by the means of Ondam(溫膽) because both heart and gallbladder hate empty. Also, Yanghyoulchoungsimtang(養血淸心湯) is applicable to gallblader disease, jeonkwang(癲狂) because it is effective in Bosim(補心).
