This study attempted to determine the value of nail art from an aesthetic perspective after an analysis of its characteristics from this point of view. For this, aesthetic categories were derived through a literature review and analysis of previous studies, and then visual images of nail art were applied to the derived analysis framework. The study results found the following: First, in nail art, 'beauty' was full coloring with color close to skin color and white French sculpture. Second, 'grace' referred to designs with refined and elegant images such as curve, ribbon and lace on the nail. Third, 'sublime' the extension or enlargement of the nail or use of an exaggerated object. Fourth, 'tragic' was expressed through use of the color black, a sharp nail shape, pierrot-motivated hand painting and crackle nail art. Fifth, 'comic' referred to designs in which the nails matched the target subject or used cute characters. Sixth, 'ugliness' was designed by accident in an unclear manner or expressed with the combination of non-harmonized signifiers.
