예비유아교사의 대학생활 적응력이 자아존중감과 교직 헌신도에 미치는 영향

The Effects of Pre-Service Early Childhood Teachers' Adaptability to College Life on Their Self-Esteem and Teacher Commitment

이 연구의 목적은 예비유아교사의 대학생활 적응력이 자아존중감과 교직 헌신도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 G시에 소재한 4년제 대학교 8곳의 2, 3, 4학년 253명을 대상으로 예비유아교사의 대학생활 적응력과 자아존중감, 교직 헌신도에 대한 자료를 수집하였으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 20.0 프로그램을 이용하여 pearson 상관분석과 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과로 첫째, 예비유아교사의 대학생활 적응력과 자아존중감 간에는 높은 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 예비유아교사의 대학생활 적응력과 교직헌신도 간에는 높은 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 예비유아교사의 자아존중감 및 교직 헌신도를 증진시키기 위해서는 예비유아교사의 대학생활 적응력을 강화시킬 필요성이 있음을 제시하였으며, 특히 예비교사의 대학생활 적응력을 높이기 위한 교육적 지원 활동과 함께 교직을 수행하기 위한 교직 관련 프로그램의 지원이 필요함을 시사한다.

This study aimed to examine how pre-service early childhood teachers' adaptability to college life affects their self-esteem and teacher commitment, and to explore the effects of pre-service early childhood teachers' adaptability to college life on self-esteem and teacher commitment in detail. For this purpose, data on adaptability to college life, self-esteem, and teacher commitment were collected from 253 students in their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year sampled at eight 4-year universities in G City, and collected data were analyzed through Pearson's correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. According to the results of the analyses, the effect of pre-service teachers' adaptability to college life on self-esteem and teacher commitment was different among the sub-areas of self-esteem and teacher commitment. The findings of this study suggest the necessity to strengthen pre-service teachers' adaptability to college life in order to enhance their self-esteem and teacher commitment. Furthermore, they imply that the effectiveness of pre-service teachers' self-esteem and teacher commitment needs to be raised through the support of programs for the performance of the teaching job along with educational support activities for uplifting their adaptability to college life.
