연쇄살인에 관한 프로이트적 접근

Freud's Approach to a Serial Murder

연쇄살인범의 심리, 혹은 연쇄살인 행위의 메커니즘을 파악하기 위한 연구는 다양한 영역에서 지속적으로 수행되고 있다. 그러나 최근의 연쇄살인에 관한 접근은 사이코패스라는 용어에 매몰되어 근원적인 탐색에 소홀한 감이 없지 않다. 사이코패스의 극히 일부가 연쇄살인범이 된다는 것은 그것이 연쇄살인의 직접적인 원인이 될 수 없다는 의미이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 입장에서 연쇄살인범의 심리와 행위의 메커니즘에 대한 Freud적 접근을 시도하였다. 그의 초창기 정신분석에서 주요개념으로 사용되었던 Libido라는 성적에너지, 죽음(파괴)의 무의식적 본능과 id, ego, super ego의 부조화, 방어기제의 왜곡된 활용 등을 연쇄살인범의 심리와 행위에 대입시켜 봄으로써 일정부분 설명이 가능하다고 판단된다. 다만 이러한 극단적 파괴본능이 모든 인간에게 내재된 것인지 아니면 특정인에게 나타나는 현상인지를 파악하기 위해서는 문화인류학과 사회학적 지식의 융합과 함께 다양한 사례의 발굴과 지속적 분석이 필요하다. 특정한 유전적 성향이 연쇄살인을 유발할 가능성도 배제할 수 없으나 상황마다 차별화된 경로를 통하여 연쇄살인범이 만들어지므로 우리는 Freud가 주장한 파괴본능이 모든 사람에게 내재되어 있을 가능성을 열어 놓고 연쇄살인행위의 메커니즘을 파악할 필요가 있을 것이다.

The study on the psychology of a serial murder, or the mechanism of serial murder behavior has been constantly conducted in diverse areas of study. Such an effort might be a help in ensuring early arrest of criminals in case of predicting or generating a serial murder to some extent. It is judged to make it possible to explain in some degree an extreme destructive behavior which the disharmony of Libido, sexual energy which was used as a main concept in the early psychoanalysis of Freud, unconscious death (destruction) instinct, and id, ego and super ego could bring about by applying it to the psychology and behavior of a serial murder. However, in order to find out whether such an extreme destructive instinct is inherent in human beings or is a peculiar phenomenon shown in a specific person, the convergence of cultural anthropology and social knowledge is needed, along with the discovery and analysis of diverse cases. In this sense, three types of a serial murder were found and behaviors of a serial murder were composed based on the types and the first triggered situation could be introduced. Even if serial murder can be triggered through a differentiated route depending on the situation, it is needed to open up the possibility that Freud's destructive instincts are inherent in human beings and to find out the mechanism of serial murder.
