A Study on Awareness of Work-Life Balance for Police Officers

일과 삶의 균형에 관한 공직사회의 인식 조사에서 공직자들은 일과 삶의 균형 요소에 대해 필요성을 인식하고 있으며, 이를 통해 공직자들의 일과 삶의 균형 요소에 대한 다양한 연구의 필요성이 제기된다. 이에 이 연구는 경찰공무원들의 일과 삶의 균형 요인들에 대한 인식 및 특성별 인식의 차이를 비교하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인구사회학적 특성별로 일과 여가 균형에 대해서는 결혼여부, 연령대가, 일과 성장 균형의 경우 결혼여부에 따라 인식의 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 일과 가족 균형 요인에 대해서는 근무기관, 담당업무별로, 일과 여가 균형 요인의 경우 근무기관, 담당업무, 계급별로, 일과 성장 균형 요인의 경우 근무기관, 담당업무, 계급, 근무형태별로 인식의 차이가 나타났다. 근무형태별로는 교대근무를 실시하고 있는 조사대상자들이 비교대근무자들보다 일과 성장 균형 요인에 대해 더욱 중요하다고 인식하고 있었다. 연구결과를 통해, 획일적인 복지정책이나 제도보다는 맞춤형 복지정책이나 제도의 필요성을 제시하였는데, 주 내용으로는 성장요인에 대한 조직 차원에서의 관심과 여가활성화를 위한 지원방안으로 경찰수련원의 확충 및 민영콘도와의 제휴 개선 등이다.

Through survey of awareness in public society, public officers are aware to necessity on work-life balance. So, multiple studies need work-life balance for public officers. This study is to confirm to awareness and characteristic difference of work-life balance for police officers. As a result, it's as in the following. First, there are difference that variable as police officer's period of service, assigned task about work-family balance. and there are difference that variable as police officer's work department, assigned task, rank about work-leisure balance. and there are difference that variable as police officer's work department, assigned task, rank, work type about work-development balance. In case of police officer's work type, shiftworkers are more aware of work-development balance than non-shiftworkers's. So, Flexible welfare system are more necessary than uniform welfare policies and system. Important contents of them are attention of organizational dimension about individual development and expantion of police training center for vitalization of leisure and improvement to allaiance about private recreational facilities.
