경찰공무원의 시간관리행동 유형화에 관한 연구

A Study on the Time Management Behavior Pattern of Police Officers

경찰업무가 증대되면서 정해진 시간 내에서 처리해야 할 업무량이 많아지고 있다. 조직의 목표를 달성하는데 있어서 동일하게 주어진 시간에 더 많은 일을 처리하고, 각각의 업무를 어떤 모습으로 처리하는가 하는 것은 매우 중요한 것이며, 경찰의 업무에 있어서도 마찬가지일 것이다. 본 연구에서는 경찰조직을 구성하는 경찰공무원들의 시간관리행동에 영향을 미치는 요인은 무엇이며, 시간관리의 모습은 어떠하고 이러한 모습들이 경찰조직 내에서 어떠한 모습을 형성하고 있는가를 알아보고자 하였다. 우선, 시간관리에 영향을 미치는 요인을 알아보기 위하여 시간관리행동을 계획성, 대인관계지향성, 긴급성의 세 가지 하위변인으로 구분하여 인구사회학적 특성을 기초로 집단간의 차이를 검증하였다. 그 결과 시간관리행동은 모두 인구사회학적 특성에 따른 차이를 보이고 있었다. 또한 경찰조직 내에서 시간관리행동의 특징을 도출하기 위하여 시간관리행동의 하위차원에 대한 군집분석을 통하여 성과지향형, 무관심형, 과업중시형, 대인관계중시형의 4가지 군집으로 방향성을 분석하였다. 이러한 시간관리행동의 각 유형들은 인구사회학적 특성들에 따라 일정한 차이를 보이고 있었으며 그 관계성이 뚜렷하게 차이가 나고 있었다. 개인과 조직차원에 있어서 시간관리라는 개념은 매우 중요한 의미를 지니고 있음에도 불구하고, 이에 대한 교육 등의 프로그램이 전무한 것이 사실이다. 따라서 경찰 직무수행에 있어서 특정 부서 및 업무 등에 한정된 교육훈련 프로그램뿐만 아니라 시간 관리와 관련된 프로그램을 추가하여 개인 및 조직의 효율성 제고차원에서 시간관리라는 개념을 인식시킬 필요가 있다.

The purpose of this study wishes to search constituent influencing on time management behavior of police officers. Also, I wish to examine how type and time of time management are managed in police organization. The study result showed that most of the police officer who were the participants of this study seemed to be a correlation between sociological characteristics and time management behavior. Most preceded studies about time management behavior have been confined to "definition", "component part of time management(or time management behavior)". But, in specified organization, time management behavior have an effect on organizational effectiveness very diverse. Especially, there may be difference between private organization and public organization. In the beginning, I exhibited the object, the range, the way of this study. As theoretical background, first of all, I defined time management and time management behavior. And then I listed component part of time management behavior, examined preceded studies about time management. The next, I examined effect factor on time management behavior of korean police officer. Effect factor on time management behavior of korean police officer are personal characteristics. The methodology used in this study is based largely on Time Management Behavior Scale, Time Management Questionnaire. 1,308 police officers from korea was selected as subjects and 1,110 police officers among them responded to the survey and use 1,033 police officers' response in actual analysis.
