A Practical Use of an Illustrated Questionnaire to Research a Dialect

This paper aims to study a practical use of an illustrated questionnaire to investigate a regional dialect and everyday words of the Korean. Many of the technique for gathering data in a dialect investigation depends on whether we use the picture and the photograph or not. I proposed a sufficient reason for using pictures and photographs in chapter 3. I indicated the way collecting the picture data and problems awaiting solution for it in chapter 4. In chapter 5 I study the relation between the picture and the questionnaire. I describe the meaning and the contents of a picture and a questionnaire. In chapter 6 I formulate a principle collecting pictures and photographs. Especially I insist the following principle. We must choose an universal form, an ancient shape, a photograph rather than a picture, and color photograph within the limits of the possible.
