Korean small and medium- sized enterprises(SMEs) having limited resources and technology capability have usually promoted product innovation by technology cooperation networking with other firms. As a result, previous related studies have examined the effect of technology cooperation networking on product innovation performance. This means that previous studies have ignored mechanisms to promote product innovation from technology cooperation networking. Because this means there is a black box as a middle step in the relationship between technology cooperation networking and product innovation performance, the path from technology cooperation networking to product innovation performance should be re-made. Therefore, this study included the variables such as CoP(Community of Practice) and information sharing, and made a path using technology cooperation networking, CoP, information sharing, product innovation, financial performance, and relation satisfaction. Using 107 Korean SMEs located in the Taegu and Kyungbook regions, this study investigated the six hypotheses, and empirical results were reported. First, technology cooperation networking positively affects CoP, but not information sharing. Second, CoP positively affects information sharing. Third, information sharing positively promotes product innovation, and product innovation increases financial performance. In addition, financial performance positively affects relation satisfaction. These results mean that information sharing resulting from CoP promotes product innovation(which could improve product competitiveness), and favorable relations with technology cooperation partners can be then made.
