The purpose of this study is to measure the economic effects of climate on the tourism industry. For the empirical analysis, the study measured and analyzed the daily data of climate and the demand for one of the representative ski resorts in Gangwon province, Korea for the recent four years covering(2010~2013). The regression and correlation analysis were first used to investigate the relationship between climate and the tourism demand after which the paper estimated the economic effects of climate on the ski resort using sensitivity and input-output analyses. The result showed that the highest temperature and the average wind velocity have a decisive effect on the demand for ski resorts. This study would help towards public understanding and awareness about the importance of the relationship between climate change(variability) and tourism demand.
