유아교육과와 건축학과 학생들의 성격특성과 창의성

Personality and Creativity of Students in the Major of Early Childhood Education and Architecture

본 연구는 전공과 학년에 따라 대학생의 성격 특성과 영역특수적 창의성에서 차이가 있는지 살펴 보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 예비 유치원 교사인 유아교육과 학생과 예비 건축사인 건축학과 학생 303명을 대상으로 창의적 학교환경 설문지와 5요인 성격 검사, 영역특수적 창의성 검사를 실시하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 선행 연구와 같이 5요인 성격특성 중 특히 지적 개방성은 모든 영역의 창의성과 유의한 상관관계를 보였다. 둘째, 유아교육과 학생들은 건축학과 학생들 보다 5요인 성격 특성 중 호의성에서 높은 점수를 보였으며 건축학과 학생들은 유아교육과 학생들 보다 지적/개방성 측면에서 높은 점수를 보였다. 셋째, 영역별 창의성을 비교한 결과 유아교육과 학생들은 음악/문학 창의성 영역에서 높았으며 건축학과 학생들은 기계/과학영역에서 높았다. 넷째, 고학년이 저학년보다 호의성과 일상생활의 창의성에서 높은 점수를 보였다. 끝으로 학문적 창의성에서 전공과 학년은 상호작용 효과를 보였는데 유아교육과 학생들은 고학년이 저학년에 비해 학문적 창의성에서 약간 감소한 반면 건축학과 학생들은 고학년이 저학년에 비해 높은 점수를 보였다. 이러한 결과들은 전공에 따라 그리고 학년에 따라 성격과 창의성에서 차이가 있음을 보여 준다.

The purpose of this study is to explore whether there are differences in Big Five personality traits, and domain specific creativity according to majors. This study involved 153 college students majoring early childhood education, and 150 college students in the department of architecture. Correlation analysis, ANOVA and MANOVA were conducted to examine the relationship among Big five personality factors and domain specific creativity factors. The Results are as follows; First, openness was closely related to all domains of domain specific creativity. Second, score of agreeableness of early childhood education students was significantly higher than architecture students. However, score of openness of early childhood education students was significantly lower than that of architecture students. Third, early childhood education students had a significantly higher score in music-writing creativity, while architecture students had a significantly higher score in machine-science creativity. Forth, seniors had a significantly higher score in agreeableness and everyday creativity compare to freshmen or juniors. Finally, interactive effects between major and school year in scholarly creativity were examined, Early childhood education students' results showed that seniors had a lower score compare to freshmen or juniors. However for architecture students, seniors had a higher score compare to freshmen or juniors. These results indicate that there is a significant difference in some factors of Big five personality, and domain specific creativity according to majors.
