본 연구의 목적은 국제고등학교 학생과 일반계 고등학교 학생의 완벽주의 성향과 창의성에 대한 자기평가의 관계를 비교하는 것이다. 이를 위해 국내의 한 국제고등학교 1-2학년생 107명과 일반계 공립 고등학교 1-2학년생 134명을 대상으로 Hewitt와 Flett (1991)의 다차원 완벽주의성향 척도(MPS)를 실시하고 자신이 다른 사람들에 비해 얼마나 더 창의적이라고 생각하는 지에 대해 5점 척도로 반응하게 하였다. 연구결과 국제고등학교에 다니고 있는 1-2학년학생들은 일반계 고등학교에 다니고 있는 1-2학년 학생들에 비해 다차원 완벽주의 성향 척도 중 하위척도인 자기지향 완벽주의 차원 점수가 유의미하게 높았으며(t=3.12, p<.01), 사회적으로 부과된 완벽주의 차원점수도 유의미하게 높았다(t=2.02, p<.05). 창의적인 자기에 대한 인식에서는 국제고 학생들의 평균점수(M=3.72, SD=.75)가 일반고 학생들의 평균점수(M=3.09, SD=1.58)보다 유의미하게 높았다(t=5.20, p<.001). 본 연구에서 얻은 결과를 종합해볼 때 국제고등학교학생들은 일반계 고등학교 학생들보다 자기지향 및 사회적으로 부과된 완벽주의 성향이 더 높고, 자신을 보다 더 창의적으로 인식하는 경향이 있다고 결론지을 수 있다.
The purpose of present study is to analyze whether the international high school students are more perfectionistic and creative than the general high school students. To approach this, Hewitt & Flett (1991)'s Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale(MPS) and self rated creativity scale were conducted on 241 high school students at a private international and a general high school; the mean, standard deviation, and Pearson's correlational coefficients was calculated and t-test was performed. As a result, a international high school students were shown to have significantly higher self-oriented and socially prescribed perfectionism of multidimensional perfectionism scales (t=3.12, p<.01) And, self-rated creativity was verified between the distinguished groups of the international(M=3.72, SD=.75) and the general (M=3.09, SD=1.58) high school students(t=5.20, p<.001). The present study confirmed that the international high school students have higher tendency toward self-oriented, socially prescribed perfectionism and self-rated creativity than the general high school.
