대전지역에서 창업가적 기업 스핀오프 벤처에 관한 이론 및 사례 연구

A Theoretical and Case Study on the Entrepreneurial Corporative Spin-off Venture in Daejeon Region

본 연구는 기술기반 벤처로 경쟁력이 있는 창업가적 기업 스핀오프 벤처에 관한 이론 및 사례 연구이다. 이론연구를 통해 창업가적 기업 스핀오프 벤처의 특성으로는 모기업에서 격변이나 동요, 좌절 등이 있으며 시장수요 급성장, 체화적 기술, 비지배적 제품디자인, 낮은 진입장벽, 다수의 세분시장 등이 성공요인으로 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. 사례연구로 대전지역에서 코스닥 상장등록 1호 벤처기업인 블루코드테코놀로지를 대상으로 하여 분석하였다. 분석은 주요 창업자와 해당 기업을 모기업으로 하여 탄생한 창업가적 기업 스핀오프 벤처 기업들의 창업자, 대표이사와 인터뷰와 관련 자료를 연대기적으로 살펴보는 것으로 하였다. 사례연구 결과, 창업가적 기업 스핀오프 벤처의 창업은 격변이나 사업 중단에 의해 주로 나타나며 시장수요 급성장, 체화적 기술, 뛰어난 연구 및 제품 개발력 등이 성공요인으로 작용하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 후반부에 연구결과의 시사점과 연구의 한계 및 향후 방향을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate characteristics and success factors of entrepreneurial corporate spin-off venture as a competitive venture. The methodology used is theoretical and case study. Based on theoretical study, it is found that the characteristics of corporative spin-off venture are upheaval, jolt, or frustration in the parent company. And rapid demand growth, skilled human capital, human-embedded technology, non-dominant product design, low entry barrier, multiple market segments are identified the key success factors of entrepreneurial corporate spin-off venture. In order to verify them, a case, Bluecord Technology-the first Kosdaq enlisted venture in Daejeon region, was chosen and analyzed using data from interview of entrepreneur and CEO in the parent company and its spin-off ventures. The findings of the case study are as follows, Firstly, entrepreneurial corporate spin-off ventures often establish when entrepreneur faced managerial upheaval and cancellation or suspension of business project in the parent company. Secondly, rapid growth of market size, superior research and development capability of product and human-embedded technology are identified as key success factors for the entrepreneurial corporate spin-off venture. Finally, the implications, limitations and future study directions based on the study results are discussed.
