In this article the author has attempted to discuss federal legislation protecting children from information harmful to their health and development formed in 2010-2013. The author uses a multidisciplinary approach, which includes in this case legal, media, socio-cultural, linguistic and historical aspects of the analysis of the phenomenon. In addition, the Russian experience is compared with European and global best practice.
