With the scale of global medical tour market rapidly expanding recently, medical tour industry is receiving attention as a famous industry. The paradigm of tour industry is changing, which is a prospective industry in the future. Medical tourism in which health and tour are combined that is developed from a simple and stationary tour viewing exotic culture is coming on the stage as a new field, grasping attention. For Korea to attract much more medical tourists than countries such as Thailand, Singapore and India, neighboring countries, it takes a lot of doing. Recently, the number of people visiting for medical tour is increasing, so Korea needs a strategy to attract 1 million medical tourists in 2020 from now on. The factors that affect the most in selecting medical tour merchandise are the quality of medical services, modernization of medical facilities, communication during diagnosis, pre- and post- management service, discriminative management with the existing medical service. In order to revitalize medical tour, it is of the utmost importance to improve medical service system, construct national medical tour PR system, advertise internationally by the government, and install and operate medical tour one-stop service center. In order to revitalize the domestic medical tour and develop it faster than the countries competing for medical tour service, we need to reinforce the investment in quality of medical service through the improvement of the present medical system, and modernize the facilities, etc. We, also, need complete education as to the service training of the employees at medical institutes and problems due to the lack of PR. Therefore, for high-class and satisfactory medical tour, it is the most urgent issue to suggest a medical service model.
