This paper aims to approach the historical relationships between the Muslim and Christian worlds from a new perspective through analyzing several historical cases of political and military alliance between the two worlds from the seventh century until 1798, in which Napoleon invaded Egypt. Many scholars like Samuel P. Huntington, who support the theory of conflict, claim that there have been ceaseless confrontations between the Western and Islamic civilizations for more than a thousand years. To prove that, Samuel P. Huntington enumerated in The Clash of Civilizations several historical examples such as the Wars of the Reconquista in Spain, the Crusades, and Ottoman Turks' siege of Vienna. To refute the theory of conflict mentioned above, this paper deals with four cases of Muslim and Christian alliance such as the ‘Abbasid–Carolingian Alliance,’ the ‘Muslim‐Christian Alliance in Spain,’ the ‘Frankish‐Muslim Alliance during the Crusades,’ and the ‘Franco‐Ottoman Alliance.’
