부모코칭역량과 유아의 자기조절력 및 공감능력간의 상관

The Corelation of Parent Caoching Competency on Children’s self-regulation and Empathy Ability

본 연구는 부모코칭역량과 유아의 사회성, 특히 자기조절력 및 공감능력과의 상관관계를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 경기도에 소재한 유아교육기관 6곳의 만 5세 유아의 부모와 교사 143명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 자료 분석방법으로는 SPSS 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 pearson의 상관분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 부모코칭역량의 하위항목들(실행역략, 의사소통역량, 관계역량, 의식역량, 성장역량)이 자기조절력과 공감능력 하위요인들 모두와 유의미한 상관이 있음이 드러났다. 즉, 부모코칭은 부모가 답을 주기보다는 스스로 답을 찾아가도록 지지하고 격려함으로써 자녀 스스로 자기조절을 하도록 돕고, 부모-자녀의 상호작용을 통해 부모의 공감능력이 자녀의 공감발달에 자연스럽게 영향을 주어 결국 유아의 친사회적 행동을 증진시키도록 이끈다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 앞으로의 부모교육은 부모의 코칭역량을 키우기 위한 구체적인 실천 지침이나 관심 촉구 등의 내용으로 이루어져야 함을 제안한다. 본 연구는 유아기 부모들의 자녀 양육에 있어 부모코칭의 효과성을 알리고, 자녀의 자기조절 및 공감능력 발달을 위한 코칭을 효과적으로 수행하도록 하는데 기초자료를 제공했다는데 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between parent caoching competency, children’s self-regulation and empathy ability, to inform parent coaching competency. Participants included 143 parents and teachers of children aged 5 in Kyeonggi-do. The analysis of data was conducted correlation analysis. The major results of this study were as follows: First, sub-factors of parent coaching competency(Action, Communication, Relation, Awareness, and Growth) and self-regulation showed a positive corelation. Second, sub-factors of parent coaching competency and empathy ability showed a positive corelation, too. Parent coaching competency encourage infant to find the answer themselves. Also, it promote pro-social behavior of young children through interaction with parent. Forward, Parent education should provide parents specific coaching strategies. This study shows parent coaching’s effectiveness. And it helps perform coaching for children’s self-regulation and empathy ability effectively.
