This study was carried out to investigate the differences in gender related to socialpressures, social comparison, and appearance management attitude in high school studentsusing latent means analysis. To achieve these purposes, a questionnaire was given to 325female adolescents and 254 male adolescents, whose ages were from 15 to 18. Data were analyzed by structure equation modeling of Amos 18.0 and SPSS 18.0 program. The results of this study were summarized as follows: First, there were significant differences in mass media pressure, peer pressure, family pressure, social comparison, and appearance management attitude between female adolescents and male adolescents. Second, according to latent means analysis, where boys were used as the reference group, girls showed higher latent mean values on mass media pressure, and peer pressure than on family pressure in regards to social pressures. Third, girls showed higher latent mean values on social comparison and appearance management attitude.
