A study on the posture balance, bowleg length and closed-eyes foot balance in Taekwondo players

The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of long-term taekwondo exercise on the musculoskeletal system, bowleg length and balance. the subjects for this study were composed of 14 professional taekwondo player who have played for over 10yers and 13 undergraduate student who have studied for physical education in university. the variables of measurement were posture balance, bowleg length and closed-eyes foot balance. the data analysis in this study was carried out based on statistical significance level of 5%. As a result, this study could come to the following conclusion. in the musculoskeletal system, all of posture balance were not significant difference between taekwondo players and student of university. in the balance of closed-eyes foot balance (left leg, right leg) taekwondo players were signifcantly lower(short time) than normal group. in the bowleg length, significant(p<.001) difference was observed between taekwondo group and normal group. In conclusion, taekwondo exercise for several years might cause transform of bowleg length of professional taekwondo player. these unbalances affect to incluce knee and back pain, awareness of correct posture, medical treatment, and stretching and weight training as a part of rehabilitative correction need to potentially reducing differences in bowleg length back into normal level
