고전 산끄스리뜨의 아누쉬뚜브(Anuṣṭubh)에 대하여

On the Anuṣṭubh of the Classical Sanskrit Meter Focused by Vaktrachanda-s

아누쉬뚜브(anuṣṭubh) 혹은 쉴로까(śloka)로 알려진 8음절 운율은 고전 산스끄리뜨 문헌에서 가장 빈번하게 사용된 운율 중 하나인데 '쁘라마니까 등 8음절로 구성된 동일운율(samavṛtta)들'과는 달리 '규정된 위치의 운각(韻脚, gaṇa)'조차 변형이 가능하다는 점에서 대단히 특이한 형태의 운율이다. 흥미로운 것은 이 운율이 산스끄리뜨 운율서에서 아누쉬뚜브라는 명칭으로 해설된 운율이 아니라 '박뜨라 군에 속하는 운율들의 규칙 중 일부'에 해당한다는 것이다. 하지만 '박뜨라=아누쉬뚜브'라는 등식이 성립하는 것은 아니다. 12개의 박뜨라 운율 중 박뜨라와 빠티야 박뜨라의 규정을 합친 형태가 아누쉬뚜브 기본형(pathyā)에 해당하고 Bha, Ra, Na, Ta, Ma, Sa와 같은 여섯 비뿔라(vipulā)가 아누쉬뚜브 확장형(vipulā)에 해당한다. 반면 박뜨라, 비빠리따박뜨라, 짜빨라박뜨라는 '고전 산스끄리뜨의 아누쉬뚜브의 규정'에 위배된다. 한편 6세기의 Bṛhatsamahita와 14세기의 Śrutabhodha는 쉴로까(śloka)라는 별개의 운율을 해설하는데 여기서의 쉴로까는 '아누쉬뚜브 기본형'과 일치하지만 확장형(vipulā)의 규정을 담고 있지는 않다. §. 아누쉬뚜브 기본형의 형태를 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. ⅰ. 홀수 구의 2-3-4번째 음절엔 ∪∪∪, ∪∪-이 올 수 없다. ⅱ. 짝수 구의 2-3-4-번째 음절엔 ∪∪∪, ∪∪- 외에 -∪-이 올 수 없다. ⅲ. 홀수 구의 5-6-7번째 음절은 ∪--이어야 한다. ⅳ. 짝수 구의 5-6-7번째 음절은 ∪-∪이어야 한다. §.. 아누쉬뚜브 확장형의 형태는 다음과 같다. ⅰ. 확장형의 경우에도 짝수구 5-6-7번째 음절은 ∪-∪이어야 한다. ⅱ. 홀수 구의 5-6-7번째 음절엔 ---, --∪, -∪-, -∪∪, ∪∪-, ∪∪∪이 올 수 있다. ⅲ. 이 경우 홀수 구의 4번째 음절은 장음(-, guru)이어야 한다.

The anuṣṭubh or also called śloka consisting of 4 pādas with 8 syllables each(total 32 syllables) is known as one of the famous meter in the classical sanskrit. According to the sanskrit literature, all the rules of anuṣṭubh including pathyā and vipulas are founded in the vaktrachandas. However all of the vaktrachandas are not thought to be the same as the anuṣṭubh. Among the 12 vaktrachandas, the rules of vaktra and pathyāvaktra are regarded as having the same schema of anuṣṭubh-pathyā, and 6 vaktravipulas namely, Bha(-∪∪), Ra(-∪-), Na(∪∪∪), Ta(--∪), Ma(---) and Sa(∪∪-) are considered as the 6 anuṣṭubh-vipulās. While vaktra itself, viparitavaktra and capalavaktra are not thought to be identical with the anuṣṭubh. On the other hands, the śloka meter, explained in the Bṛhatsamhitā and the Śrutabodha is considered to be of the same schema of anuṣṭubh-pathyā. However the rules of vipulas are not included in those of the śloka meter. I. The General Rules for Anuṣṭubh-pathyā(= Śloka of ŚrB) i. The 2nd-3rd-4th syllables of odd pāda must not Na-gaṇa(∪∪∪), Sa-gaṇa(∪∪-) ii. The 2nd-3rd-4th syllables of even pāda must not Na-gāna(∪∪∪), Sa-gaṇa(∪∪-) and Ra-gaṇa(-∪-) iii. The 5-6-7th syllables of odd pāda is Ya-gaṇa(∪--), and iv. The 5-6-7th syllables is even pāda must be Ja-gaṇa(∪-∪) II. The General Rules for Anuṣṭubh-vipulā. i. The 5-6-7th syllables of even pāda must be Ja-gaṇa(∪-∪). ii. The 5-6-7th syllables of odd pāda allow Ma-gaṇa(---), Ta-gaṇa(--∪), Ra-gaṇa(-∪-), Bbh-gaṇa(-∪∪), Sa-gaṇa(∪∪-) and Na-gaṇa(∪∪∪). iii. In vipulā, the 4th syllable of odd pāda must be guru(-).only ---, ∪--, -∪- and ∪∪- are permitted in the 2nd-3rd-4th syllables
