이삼십대가 인식하는 노인 이미지에 대한 연구

A Study on the Perception for the Image of the Elderly -Focused on People in Their Twenties and Thirties-

본 연구는 다른 세대가 가지고 있는 노인에 대한 이미지를 주 연구 대상으로 삼았다. 노인에 대한 여러 이미지의 유형 및 특성을 알아보고 개인이 그런 이미지를 갖게끔 하는 주관적 요인을 분석함으로써, 노인에 대한 올바른 인식 형성을 통한 노인문제 개선에 이바지하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2-30대, 34명을 대상으로 Q방법론을 적용하였다. 자료처리 및 분석에는 QUANL PC program에 적합한 data-file을 작성하였고, Q요인분석은 주요인 분석방법을 이용하였다. Q방법론을 통한 분석 결과, 연구대상자들이 가지고 있는 노인에 대한 이미지는 크게 네 가지로 구분되었다. 유형Ⅰ(경제력 주시형)은 주로 경제력을 중심으로 노인을 인식하는 유형으로서 노인에 대한 부양부담 등과 관련이 있다. 유형Ⅱ(독립심 주시형)는 독립성을 중심으로 노인을 바라보는 유형으로, 노인들의 수동적이거나 의존적인 행동에 대한 인식이 강한 경우로 판단된다. 유형Ⅲ(언행 주시형)는 일상생활에서 접했던 노인의 말과 행동에 초점을 두고 인식하는 유형이며, 마지막으로 유형Ⅳ(적응력 주시형)는 노인을 인식할 때 새로운 것을 배우거나 받아들이는 능력을 주로 고려하는 유형이다. 이렇듯 개개인마다 가정 및 사회 속에서 노인과의 경험 등이 달라서, 노인에 대한 이미지를 인식하는 데에 주로 고려하는 요인이 다르게 된다. 이를 위해 젊은 세대와 노인세대 간의 통합을 위해서는 체계적이고 지속적이면서도 개인의 편차를 고려한 다양한 복지 프로그램이 필요할 것이다.

This study mainly focuses on younger generations' cognition about the elderly. This study analyzes the characters of images about the elderly and classifies those images according to those characteristics, and also, analyzes subjective causes of having such images. Through these procedures, this study helps the formation of healthy cognition and the improvement of the elderly problems. After applying the Q methodology, analysis shows that the subject's images about the elderly can be divided into following four types. TypeⅠ: The case of people observe economic power. TypeⅡ: The case of people observe independent mind. TypeⅢ: The case of people observe words and behaviors. TypeⅣ: The case of people observe adaptability. Each person has his or her own criteria when they form the image about the elderly. This is because all individuals have different domestic background, different views of values and different experiences with the elderly. Furthermore, social structure which provides less opportunity to inter-generation communications interferes in the formation of the healthy cognition of the elderly. For the integration of generations, various welfare programs should consider the differences between individuals as well as it should be systematic and continuous.
