Objective: The goals of this study intend to examine the effect of multi-talker noise on speech discrimination and final consonant error in children with cochlear implant. Method: 13-cochlear implanted-children(mean=10;8, cochlear implant group; CI group) and 12-normal hearing-children (11;8, normal hearing group; NH group) were participated. Speech discrimination score(SDS) and final consonant error were tested in -10, 0, +10 ㏈SNR(signal-to-noise ratio) and quiet condition. Result: As a results, SDS was shown 2.77 ± 0.95, 9.54 ± 1.85, 18.77 ± 2.36, 39.69 ± 4.31 % in the order of -10, 0, +10 ㏈ signal to noise ratio(SNR), in quiet, respectively. SNR led to increase substitution, decrease omission and error rate of final consonant. Substitution of final consonant showed anteriorization of velar, antero posteriorization of bilabial and alveolar, substitute to another phoneme in the same articulation method. Conclusion: This result means that SNR improving leads to detection but does not lead to distinction.
